The young student Bruno Mompeán, originally from Murcia, has managed to fulfil one of his greatest dreams thanks to a crowdfunding campaign: to start studying Mathematics at Oxford University (UK). The main obstacle for the young student, recognised for his talent for mathematics, was the high tuition fees at this institution, amounting to 42,240 euros for the first year of the course, which his family could not afford. Thanks to his case being publicised through the media and social networks, the crowdfunding campaign initiated by the young man has raised 16,000 euros to pay for his studies, while the Humanism and Science Foundation has covered the remaining tuition fees. This is a clear example of how funding can be obtained for all kinds of projects and personal or collective initiatives through social networks.
From our entrepreneurial initiatives, we want to follow the example of talented young people, such as Bruno Mompeán, to finance the project "Parque Tecnológico Playa Paraíso" and the creation of a marina with a marine research centre in the surroundings of the Hard Rock Hotel Tenerife.
