The Mencey Hotel became today the main meeting point for innovation in the Canary Islands with the celebration of Hub Intech Tenerife 2025, a leading technology forum organized by the Tenerife Cabildo and the Tenerife Science and Technology Park (PCTT). The event brought together national and international talent, start-ups, institutional leaders, and experts across multiple technological fields, consolidating Tenerife as one of the most strategically important hubs in the Atlantic. Celebrating its third edition on November 21, 2025, the forum places the island on the international innovation map thanks to an ecosystem currently made up of 65 companies operating from the Science and Technology Park. These organizations benefit from advanced connectivity, an entrepreneurial environment, and the tax advantages of the Archipelago to develop R&D&i projects.
During the day, the importance of key infrastructures was highlighted, such as the Canarink submarine cable, which strengthens the island’s global connectivity, and the two supercomputers at ITER, which position Tenerife at the forefront of high-performance computing. The development of the Tenerife teleport was also emphasized, an initiative backed by European funds that will significantly expand the island’s capabilities in satellite communications and the space economy. These infrastructures consolidate Tenerife as a territory prepared to face the challenges of digitalization and the economy of the future.
Hub Intech Tenerife 2025 addressed a wide variety of strategic sectors linked to the economic diversification of the Canary Islands: artificial intelligence, aerospace engineering, biotechnology, audiovisual production, the blue economy, digital transformation, and connectivity. AI had a special role as a disruptive driver influencing both businesses and social relations. Speakers agreed that the fourth industrial revolution demands talent, knowledge, and continuous training—essential elements to continue building the island’s technological future.
The organization of Playa Paraíso Technology Park, present at the event, emphasized the importance of this gathering for the island’s innovation ecosystem. Its coordinator, Miguel Muñoz, invited the public to follow the forum on social media and announced that, once the event concluded, a summary with the main conclusions and reflections of the day would be published on the park’s blog.
One of the most moving moments of the morning was the intervention of Ivana, a Ukrainian entrepreneur whose story of overcoming challenges and technological vocation captivated the audience. Ivana is firmly committed to developing her project from Tenerife, convinced that the island combines quality of life, talent, and an ideal international projection for tech professionals. She also announced the organization of the Tenerife Technological Olympiad, scheduled for July 2026, an event that will attract young talent from around the world.
The forum also explored innovative educational proposals linked to the start-up ecosystem, where students are paid while they learn, combining theory and practice. This method, supported by active professionals, increases knowledge retention and allows for the training of highly competitive profiles with direct connections to the real job market. Among the highlighted interventions was that of golfer Iván Ballesteros, who reflected on the relationship between golf, talent management, and the archipelago’s capacity to attract international events and high-level professionals.
Attendees described Hub Intech Tenerife 2025 as “a unique experience” and “one of the best technology days ever held on the island.” The forum continues in the afternoon with new roundtables, presentations, and networking spaces, including a visit to the coworking space at the Hotel Taburiente, where entrepreneurial projects and new collaboration opportunities will be presented.
