12th Fair of Professions and Employment (Arona, Tenerife)

On April 3rd, the Los Cristianos Cultural Center hosted an informative conference on vocational training (FP) programs offered at institutes in the southern region of Tenerife. The event, organized by the Arona City Council and the Government of the Canary Islands, brought together over 1,600 students interested in learning about the educational and employment opportunities provided by vocational training.

Representing the ongoing initiatives for the development of Playa Paraíso, Miguel Muñoz, project coordinator, attended the event with the aim of recruiting FP students interested in participating in the internship program. Additionally, he provided a summary dossier to students and directors of FP centers in the region, emphasizing the importance of these training experiences in supporting drafting architects and other professionals.

The event also provided insight into the dual training model, similar to the German system, in which students combine theoretical education at school with paid internships at partner companies. During the conference, it was highlighted that in Germany, many companies offer compensation to students in dual training, with approximate figures of €800 in the first year, €1,000 in the second, and €1,200 in the third, ensuring continuous education and future employment within the same company.

The conference was a success, with the active participation of regional institutes and discussions on improving the dual training system, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Government of the Canary Islands. Additionally, the possibility of allowing students from other autonomous communities to complete their internships in the Canary Islands, and vice versa, was discussed, promoting mobility and knowledge exchange between regions.

XII Feria de las Profesiones y el Empleo (Arona, Tenerife)

El pasado 3 de abril, el Centro Cultural de Los Cristianos acogió unas jornadas informativas sobre las actividades de formación profesional (FP) impartidas en los institutos de la comarca sur de Tenerife. El evento, organizado por el Ayuntamiento de Arona y el Gobierno de Canarias, reunió a más de 1.600 alumnos interesados en conocer las oportunidades educativas y laborales que ofrece la FP.

En representación de las iniciativas en curso para el desarrollo de Playa Paraíso, Miguel Muñoz, coordinador de proyectos, asistió a la jornada con el objetivo de buscar alumnado de FP interesado en participar en la modalidad de prácticas formativas. Además, entregó un dossier resumen a los estudiantes y directores de los centros de FP de la comarca, destacando la importancia de estas experiencias formativas como apoyo a los arquitectos redactores y otros profesionales.

El evento permitió además un acercamiento al modelo de formación dual, similar al sistema alemán, donde los alumnos combinan formación teórica en el centro educativo con prácticas remuneradas en empresas colaboradoras. Durante las jornadas se destacó que, en Alemania, muchas empresas ofrecen remuneraciones a los estudiantes en formación dual, con cifras aproximadas de 800 euros el primer año, 1.000 euros el segundo y 1.200 euros el tercero, garantizando así una formación constante y una futura inserción laboral en la misma empresa.

Las jornadas fueron un éxito, con la participación activa de los institutos de la comarca y la propuesta de mejoras en el sistema dual, competencia del Gobierno de Canarias. Además, se discutió la posibilidad de que alumnos de otras comunidades autónomas puedan realizar sus prácticas en Canarias y viceversa, favoreciendo la movilidad y el intercambio de conocimientos entre regiones.
