Crowdfunding has established itself as a key tool for financing entrepreneurial projects, enabling individuals and companies to obtain financial support from a community of investors or donors. There are different types of crowdfunding, such as donation, reward, investment and loans, each adapted to different needs and objectives of entrepreneurs. In Spain, this form of crowdfunding has gained relevance in sectors such as technology, education and social economy, offering new opportunities for innovation and project development.
Crowdfunding platforms have proven their effectiveness in multiple areas, from entrepreneurship to research and education. Universities such as the University of La Laguna (ULL) and the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) have incorporated this strategy to finance academic and scientific projects through sponsorship programs. These initiatives have allowed students and researchers to access economic resources without relying exclusively on traditional public or private funds, strengthening the independence and sustainability of their projects.
An outstanding case of crowdfunding applied to technological dissemination and development is that of the Playa Paraíso Technology Park, which has used this strategy to finance its dissemination conferences. Through small donations and a bonus system for sponsors, they have managed to raise financial support for the previous phase of the presentation of their event. This model demonstrates how crowdfunding not only serves to raise funds, but also to strengthen communities of support around innovative initiatives.
The use of video in crowdfunding campaigns has been identified as a key factor in the success of these initiatives. Recent studies have analyzed how audiovisual presentation influences the decision of potential donors, improving the conversion rate and increasing trust in the projects. In this context, it is essential that entrepreneurs use effective communication and marketing strategies to maximize the impact of their campaigns.
