The Playa Paraíso Technological Park, in the municipality of Adeje, continues to support training and the dissemination of technology applied to architecture and engineering. In this context, we aim to give visibility to training activities related to the BIM methodology (Building Information Modeling), a key tool in the digitalisation of the construction sector and collaborative technical design.
Within this framework, the course “Fundamentals of the BIM Methodology”, delivered in collaboration with Docencia y Multimedia Canarias (DYM Canarias), stands out for its focus on introducing collaborative environments for digital design and modelling. Miguel Muñoz, our coordinator, has had the opportunity to complete the first two modules of this training programme. The course has included the participation of professionals such as the Venezuelan architect and SEPE trainer Juan Antonio Morales, linked to BIMSeven, a consultancy specialising in BIM services and the digital transformation of the construction sector. It has also been complemented by contributions from consultant Noelia Marrero in later modules focused on tools such as Revit for structures and building services.
The BIM (Building Information Modeling) model in architecture is an intelligent, collaborative 3D digital representation of a building that centralises technical, structural, mechanical, and cost-related information. It allows construction processes to be simulated, errors to be detected before construction begins, efficiency to be improved, and the entire building lifecycle to be managed, optimising both time and resources. The BIM methodology, as taught in these courses, enables the integration of information provided by different professional profiles—architects, engineers, interior designers, and specialised technicians—into a single platform. This coordination facilitates the creation of accurate and coherent 3D models that can be directly applied to real projects, such as the digital models planned for Playa Paraíso. In addition, the complementary use of artificial intelligence tools is highlighted to improve design accuracy and optimisation.
On the other hand, these training activities are supported by digital dissemination through social networks and blogs, such as the Instagram account of the Playa Paraíso Technological Park 2010 and its official blog. Likewise, specialised companies and consultancies such as BIMSeven, along with training platforms like DYM Canarias, strengthen this educational and professional ecosystem, driving the digital transformation of the sector in the Canary Islands and facilitating the connection between training, innovation, and practical application in real projects.
