On Monday 28th September 2020, the coordinator of our entrepreneurial initiatives, Miguel Muñoz, went to the zone of Playa Paraíso (Adeje) to visit Las Cancelas real estate and have a meeting with an architect interested in developing a rural tourism project in this zone. With them was the industrial engineer José Luis Peraza, which advised the architect on which would be the most suitable location for her project inside the property, considering factors such as topography, vegetation and hydrological resources of the environment. In this way, we have thought in the parcel number 50, because it is the one who provides the best viability conditions for this idea.
The business model which this architect proposes us consists in implementing an ensemble of cottage houses in a sector of the parcels which make up this estate, using a surface of 10,000 square metres. These houses are made with modular buildings similar to containers, which can be easily adapted to the features of any piece of land. Therefore, a portion of Las Cancelas real estate would be segregated in order to create these ensemble of cottage houses, where tourists could enjoy the natural attractions which the environment of Las Cancelas ravine offers, near from the tourist zone of Playa Paraíso.
With the support of the Council of Adeje and other public corporations, this rural tourism project could get the legal coverage necessary for its realisation. At the same time, it is totally compatible with our entrepreneurial initiative “Playa Paraíso Technological Park”, because one of our objectives consists in promoting sustainable tourism.
Finally, we want to thank this architect for her interest and the engineer José Luis Peraza for the technical support which he provided us in our visit. We are sure that initiatives such as these can contribute to the development of tourism in Southern Tenerife and the economic recovery of Canary Islands after the health crisis of COVID-19.
