In September, Ashotel will hold the AI Week for SMEs, a series of four professional sessions that will showcase in Tenerife the advantages of artificial intelligence for small and medium-sized businesses. The initiative is part of the work carried out by Ashotel's Acelera Pyme Office, a free technology advisory and awareness service that the hotel employers' association makes available to SMEs, self-employed workers and entrepreneurs in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, within the state programme run by Red.es.
This new event builds on other AI-related activities that the Acelera Pyme Office has carried out in recent years, such as the session held in Adeje in March 2025 with the participation of expert Silvia Leal, advisor to the OECD and the European Commission on Digital Strategy, and the networking sessions of the "Wine & TICS" programme, in which the hotel sector has explored practical applications of AI in its day-to-day operations. Through these sessions, Ashotel aims to give Canary Islands businesses access to tools that improve productivity, streamline processes and boost competitiveness in a constantly changing technological environment.
Interest in artificial intelligence as a driver of innovation is also shared by the Playa Paraíso 2010-Adeje Technology Park, whose blog and Wix project page include a proposal on the use of AI to support the dissemination of its initiatives. Together with the initiative's long-standing blog, this digital space summarises the business project that has been promoted in the municipality of Adeje since 2010, covering both the technology park itself and the future Marina and Marine Research Centre.
The reference location for both initiatives can be viewed on the Grafcan mapping tool, which places the project area at the Las Cancelas estate, Calle El Pinque, in Playa Paraíso, in the municipality of Adeje. This tool, managed by the Government of the Canary Islands, allows precise visualisation of the coastal area where both the technology park and the future jetty for recreational and sailing boats are planned.
