The Port Adriano marina is 20 kilometres away from the city of Palma de Mallorca. It consists in a set of port facilities which technology turns into an international reference in the design of leisure ports. At the same time, it includes a wide leisure offer which increases its appeal.

Port Adriano was founded in 1984 and was enlarged in 2012 by the French architect Philippe Starck. It is one of the few marinas in the world which can house yachts until 100 metres length. Different leisure activities beside the sea are carried out there, such as the Port Adriano Music Festival, a cultural project which was born in 2013 and has been consolidated in the last years in order to become the biggest músical event in Balearic Islands, with more tan 26 concerts and an attendance of 34,000 people from its beginning. International figures of current music have gone through the stages of this festival, such as Tony Hadley, the britpop voice of Spandau Ballet, Nena, the queen of German pop, and Les Humphries Singers, which joined toghether to celebrate their 50 years of musical career.

Since 2004, Port Adriano has international certificates according to the ISO 9001 and 14001 regulations. It also received in 2009 the EMAS Verification, the European certificate which entails the most demanding standards in good environmental practices. In 2017, Port Adriano was bestowed an award from the government of Balearic Islands for this policies on social corporate responsibility, thanks to the purchase of Seabin, a floating waste bin which harvests plastic rubbish from marine water.

Its facilities are completed with a series of servicies related to marine activities: a commercial area with boutiques and various types of restaurants, a gym for the ship’s company and clients, a diving school, a sailing school and basic services such as a bank, a supermarket and supplies for yachts.

From our entrepreneurial initiative, “2010-Adeje Playa Paraíso Technological Park”, we think that Port Adriano, as a reference in the management of port activities worldwide, provides a model which could be reproduced in other coastal areas of Spain. That is the case if our current entrepreneurial initiative, which proposes to créate a leisure port with a marine research centre, in the surroundings of the Hard Rock Hotel Tenerife, placed in the zone of Playa Paraíso (Adeje). For this initiative, its coordinator, Miguel Muñoz, has appointed the well-known architect Jerónimo Padrón, who has visited this place and has met our work team and potential investors from the nautical sector.

Following this line of action, the coordinator, Miguel Muñoz, expects to return to the city of London to present his initiative, “2010-Adeje Playa Paraíso Technological Park”, and the proposal of a leisure port for Playa Paraíso. This second trip to London would allow to complete the groundwork made in the first one, which the coordinator carried out from 1th until 9th December 2018.
